Rollingwood Swim Club

The Seals swim in Division 1 of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL).  The program provides a fun and competitive atmosphere for swimmers of all ability and runs from the beginning of June through the end of July with daily practices on Monday through Friday and five dual meets scheduled on Saturdays throughout the season.  Swim Team registration is open to kids of all ages as long as they are active members.  The main qualification for our younger swimmers is that they are able to swim one lap of the pool (25 meters) unassisted.

2024 Season

Welcome to the Seals 2024 Season.  We are happy to announce the return of Coach Joe (Seals Head Coach) along with coaches Megan, Josie, Paul, Leigh, Maggie, Jonah, Samantha, and Torun.  We are also pleased to Welcome Liz Perry back to our coaching staff and announce the addition of Lars Nilsen!  We are looking forward to a great season swimming in Division I of the CMSL and to the return of our 21228 Invitational Meet!

Eligibility

Only active members can participate on the Rollingwood swim team.  The eligibility of a competitor to compete in an age group shall be determined by his/her age on May 30th of the current season.  Regardless of age, a swimmer’s final season of competition will be up to 18 or the summer swim season immediately after graduation from high school.

2024 Season Registration Deadline & Fees

2024 registration will be conducted online only and will run through June 7, 2024.  Registration is accessible through the Member Splash membership management system.  After logging into your member account, click on "Make a Payment" at the top of your member account.  Select the "Swim Team Registration" product and use the link to fill out the registration form.  Once the form has been completed, select the number of swimmers to register (1 to 3, members 4+ are free) and then select/proceed with payment and follow the payment instructions (the 2024 swim team registration fee is $100 per swimmer for up to 3 swimmers.  This includes a $20 AAU registration fee/swimmer).  Payment can be made by check or credit card (credit card payments are subject to a processing fee)​.  If paying by check, please make payment to "Rollingwood Pool, Inc." and send to Bill Protzman, 7109 Altford Court, Elkridge, MD 21075.  You must submit both the form and make your payment to be registered.  Swimmers may not swim in practices until their registration has been submitted.

Seals Handbook

The Seals Handbook provides an overview of summer swimming at Rollingwood and the CMSL.  The handbook provides an overview of various swim meets, volunteer jobs, meet order of events, and how swim meets are conducted.

Equipment Requirements

All swimmers must have their own kick boards and goggles.  These can be purchased from local swim shops.  

​

Team Suits

Our team suit for the season will be Vitality by Tyr.  Unfortunately it has become difficult to find 2 year suits in anything other than solids, so this suit will just be for the 2024 season.  Suits are available from Cy's Swim Shop (719 Frederick Road in Catonsville, 410-747-8760) and are in stock now.  If you need to purchase additional swim gear, please stop by Cy's and tell them you are a Rollingwood Swim Team member and receive a 10% discount.

Practice Schedule

Rollingwood provides both morning and evening swim practices.  Please note that evening practices during the regular season are intended for those families that cannot attend the morning sessions and as lanes will be limited.  We ask that you please attend the morning practices if you are able.

PreSeason Practice Schedule (Jun 3 - Jun 14)

Preseason practices are held Mon, Tues, and Thurs evenings at the times below.

     Ages 8&U: 5:45 pm - 6:15 pm

     Ages 9-10: 6:15 pm - 6:45 pm

     Ages 11/12: 6:45 pm - 7:15 pm

     Ages 13+: 7:15 pm - 7:45 pm

Regular Season Practice Schedule (Jun 17 - Jul 19)

Regularly scheduled practices commence when the pool opens for the regular season and run through the end of the CMSL season.  Morning and evening practices schedules will be observed in accordance with the following schedule.

Daily practices will be held daily Monday through Friday as follows:

     Ages 8&U: 9:45 am - 10:25 am

     Ages 9-10 & 11-12: 9:00 am - 9:45 am

     Ages 13+: 8:00 am - 9:00 am

 

Evening practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, utilizing two lanes of the pool.  Practice times are as follows:

     Ages 8&U: 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm

     Ages 9-10: 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm

     Ages 11+: 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm

Practice Schedule Jul 22 through 26

Practices the week of July 22nd through 26th are for Straehle/Divisional swimmers only with the exception of Friday Fun Day on July 26th (all swimmers welcome).  Morning practices will run the same as the regular season practice schedule.  Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening practices will be from 6:00pm-7:00pm with (10 and Unders 6:00-6:30 and 11 and Ups 6:30-7:00).

There will be no practices on Wed, Jul 24th due to the Straehle meet.
