The Seals swim in Division II of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL).  The program provides a fun and competitive atmosphere for swimmers of all ability and runs from the beginning of June through the end of July with daily practices on Monday through Friday and five dual meets scheduled throughout the season.  In addition to the CMSL dual meets, the Seals will also attend the Andover Novice meet.  Swim Team registration is open to swimmers of all ages as long as they are active or quarter century members.  Swimmers must be able to swim one lap of the pool (25 meters) unassisted and tread water for 30 seconds.

2026 Season

Welcome to the Seals 2026 Season.  The Seals swim in Division II of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL).  The program provides a fun and competitive atmosphere for swimmers of all abilities and runs from the beginning of June through the end of July with daily practices on Monday through Friday and five dual meets scheduled throughout the season.

We are happy to announce our coaching staff of Coach Joe (our Seals Head Coach) along with coaches Megan, Josie, Madison, Liam, Torun, Samantha, Emily, Lacey and Keela.  ​​​

Eligibility

Only active and quarter century members can participate on the Rollingwood swim team.  The eligibility of a competitor to compete in an age group shall be determined by his/her age on May 30th of the current season.  Regardless of age, a swimmer’s final season of competition will be up to 18 or the summer swim season immediately after graduation from high school.

The Seals Handbook provides an overview of summer swimming at Rollingwood and the CMSL.  The handbook provides an overview of various swim meets, volunteer jobs, meet order of events, and how swim meets are conducted.

Equipment Requirements

All swimmers must have their own kick boards and goggles.  These can be purchased from local swim shops.

Team Suits

Our team suit for the season will be Seismo by Tyr.  Suits are available from Cy's Swim Shop (719 Frederick Road in Catonsville, 410-747-8760).  If you need to purchase additional swim gear, please stop by Cy's and tell them you are a Rollingwood Swim Team member and receive a 10% discount. (see images below)

Volunteers - NEW!!!

We need your help to make sure that the meets run smoothly.  Volunteers are needed to assist with timing, clerk of course, table/ribbons, stroke and turn officiating, grill, and concessions.  Please use the volunteer links posted in the meet table (bottom of the swim team page) to sign up.

NEW THIS SEASON - We are Requiring that each family volunteer for 3 sessions this season.  There are multiple volunteer sessions open each meet.  Please note this requirement is per family and NOT per swimmer.  We will be checking in volunteers at the beginning of each meet and will keep track.

Practice Schedule

Rollingwood provides both morning and evening swim practices.  Evening practices are intended for those families that cannot attend the morning sessions and as lanes will be limited.  We ask that you attend morning practices if you are able. 

 

6&Us will not be able to attend regular season evening practices prior to Jul 1, unless cleared by the coaches.  This will help to regulate the flow of practices while our younger swimmers are acclimating and allow the coaches to better distribute their attention across all swimmers.

Pre-Season Practice Schedule (Jun 1 - Jun 12)

Pre-Season practices run Mon, Tues, and Thurs evenings while BCPS schools are still in session.  The Seals will use all 6 lanes of the pool until 7:15pm and will then reduce to fewer lanes based on the number of swimmers practicing in the older age groups.  The pre-season practice schedule is as follows:

​     Ages 8&U: 5:45 pm - 6:15 pm

     Ages 9-10: 6:15 pm - 6:45 pm

     Ages 11-12: 6:45 pm - 7:15 pm

     Ages 13+: 7:15 pm - 7:45 pm

Regular Season Practice Schedule (Jun 15- Jul 24)*

Regularly scheduled practices commence when the pool opens for the regular season and run through the end of the CMSL season.  Morning and evening practices schedules will be observed in accordance with the following schedule.

Daily practices will be held daily Mon through Fri as follows:

​

     Ages 8&U: 9:45 am - 10:25 am

     Ages 9-10 & 11-12: 9:00 am - 9:45 am

     Ages 13+: 8:00 am - 9:00 am

 

Evening practices will be held Mon, Tues, and Thurs evenings, utilizing two lanes of the pool.  Practice times are as follows:

     Ages 8&U: 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm

     Ages 9-10: 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm

     Ages 11+: 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm

* Practice Notes:

1.  Practice adjustments will be relayed (if needed) on a week to week basis

​2. Practices the week of July 20th through 23th are for Straehle/Divisional swimmers.  July 24th is the last Friday Fun Day(all swimmers welcome).  Morning practices will run the same as the regular season practice schedule.  Mon, Tues, and Thurs evening practices will be from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm (10&U 6:00-6:30 and 11+ 6:30-7:00).

Meet Sign Out Sheet & Event Request

Any swimmer unable to attend a meet is required to sign out no later than the Tuesday prior to the meet (coaches create the meet lineup on Wednesday and need to know who will be in attendance).  If one or more of your swimmers are unable to attend, please sign the meet sign out sheet below.

Also, please note that the Sign Out sheet can be used to request events.  If you want to request an event for your swimmer, please indicate in the Notes for Coach section for that meet(s).
